#MidTownCLEMembers: New Bridge Cleveland

Did you know that MidTown Cleveland hosts more than 650 organizations and over 18,000 workers in our neighborhood? Our #MidTownCLEMembers campaign is an attempt to capture just some of the amazing work and innovative leaders from all across the Town. As we work together to create a connected community, we’ll be working to highlight different organizations across all spectrums of work in the hopes of sharing some of our amazing diverse assets.

For October 2019, we’re excited to spotlight New Bridge Cleveland– a community-based social-emotional arts-infused after-school education program and workforce training center that addresses the needs of residents and youth who live in some of Cleveland’s most challenged neighborhoods.

  1. How long has your organization been located in MidTown?

10 years

Empathetic, Innovative, Community-Driven

3. What is something new and/or exciting that we can look forward to from your organization within the next year?

We are starting a new in-school, after-school, youth program called “My Lens.”  My Lens is a Social Emotional Learning (SEL), Photography program that supports students from CMSD schools in exploring themes of self-identity, community, racial bias and stereotypes, and social responsibility.   The students will use the power of their personal lens and the camera’s lens to challenge themselves and others around these concepts.  We are planning an art exhibition to display all of the student’s awesome artwork from this program in the spring, which will be open to the public, more details TBD.

4. Where are your team members’ favorite spots in MidTown?

Tastebuds, Souper Market, Koko’s Bakery, the mural on E 36th and Euclid, Cafe Phix, the RTA Healthline is much appreciated, The Hough Multipurpose Center, The Morgan Paper Conservatory, and Negative Space Gallery.
